What would you take with you on a trip to Costa Rica?

This is a list of the most important items to pack for your Into Nature holiday. You will travel to a tropical country sustainably and enjoyably. A backpack (15–20 kg) is more convenient than a suitcase with wheels. The temperature in Costa Rica ranges from 25 to 30°C all year round, dropping to around 15°C in the cloud forests. The sun shines with a high UV index. When packing, bear in mind both relaxed beach days and walks in humid rainforests. It can rain heavily in Costa Rica, especially at the end of the afternoon, for a large part of the year.

Clothing for a tropical trip

Suitable clothing includes what you would wear in your home country in the summer. You could also bring clothes to donate to local people at the end of your stay. Bring quick-drying fabrics because of the humidity and perspiration. Synthetic clothing dries faster and therefore usually smells less. Sweaty, black or red clothing that is not breathable attracts more mosquitoes. It’s better to wear white or other light colours as these will protect you from the sun.
